Still Life Photography Workshop

Still Life Photography - Put your skills to the test by transforming what you consider to be everyday objects into exciting images

Still life photography is traditionally a photograph of inanimate objects, usually in small groupings. Sometimes the idea is to accurately represent the objects as they are. Other times the subject matter of the photograph is there to serve the composition and design of the image.

The photographer is able to select all of the elements of the photograph including the subject matter and the background. Lighting is critical in still life photography.

We will run two (2) sessions this month to accommodate week day and weekend time slots for participants
  • Wednesday Oct 3, 7 pm - 9:30 pm
  • Sunday Oct 21, 10 am to 12:30 pm

Want International Competition Experience Without The Price Tag?

The 5th Bi-Annual Chung Ai International Salon

It is the tradition of the Chung Ai Photographic Society to hold an International Photographic Salon every two years. Our previous success in holding this event was largely based on the support from the world wide photographic community.

Time has elapsed swiftly that we are already planning for the 5th International Salon to be held on October 13 and 14, 2012. The Salon Committee has decided to continue with the Digital Format and accept Digital Images only. All submissions can be made by utilizing this Web Site. Competitions will be based on projected images assessed by a Panel of Judges. The Projected Exhibition to be held on November 4 and will be open to the public.

Time is running out - entry due date is October 1, 2012.  There currently only 167 participants, which is a mere drop in the hat compared to some international salons.  Not only is the participation level low, but so is the entrance fee.  Starting at $18 US for one category is a virtual steel.

So why wait - send those images in now.
