Pikto now does Light Jet printing!

Pikto recently introduced a new printing service. Lightjet printing uses laser's to transmit light onto traditional photographic paper.

Within the equipment, there are three lasers, red, green and blue, which are merged into a single beam that simultaneously exposes the photographic material, producing the image in a single pass. The photographic material is then processed in the same manner as traditional photography by developing the photographic material in a "wet" film processor. By using the lasers, the total image is crisp and precise edge to edge, with no distortion. All of this means that the quality of a Lambda print will be much better in terms of clarity, sharpness and in colour saturation than other large format printing processes.

Presented by Canadian photographer Richard Martin, this captivating program includes instructional sessions interspersed with inspiring audio-visual presentations. With an emphasis on simplifying the photographic process, there will be discussions on the process of seeing and making photographs, the practical use of visual design, producing clear visual statements, and the use of techniques to evoke emotions in an image. An absolute 'must see' for anyone interested in the visual arts.

Exploring the relationship between music and the interaction of form and colour; The curvilinear forms of architect Frank Gehry's uncommonly inventive, eccentric architecture, from Los Angeles, Cleveland and Seattle; The Elemental Spirits of cemetery sculpture from Venice, Italy, Havana, Cuba and Savanna, Georgia and recent work from Sicily, Tuscany

Learn From the Masters

Freeman Paterson come to Montreals Lake Shore Camera Club

Freeman believes a sound knowledge of visual design is fundamental to clear visual expression, and focuses on this in his illustrated talk and lecture.

This presentation is on “seeing” and visual design, that is, using good visual design to communicate what you see and how you feel about what you see. Using visual design as the craft of visual communication and expression (direct comparisons with the design of language).

Freeman emphasizes that this presentation will be of value not only to photographers, but to all visual artists and designers. In essence, to anyone who creates any kind of 'image' or 'scene' for our viewing pleasures.
